Sunday School on May 1st...we had to make May Day Flowers!
Original idea came from this site, click here, I just jazzed it up a bit!
Using green pipe cleaners and bright colored poms, make the stems for the flowers.
Simply twist one end into a small circle and hot glue a pom on top. You can have the kids do this without glue by twisting the pipe cleaner around the pom.
Make a paper vase by rolling up a piece of 12" x 12" scrapbook paper.
Use clear tape to secure edges on back. Cut tube in half to make 2 paper vases.
Staple bottom of paper vases three times.
Punch holes in each side and attach a ribbon. Secure ribbon with a knot.
Using cupcake liners, have kids paint the liners with watercolors.
Use lots of colors and paint the entire liner. Blot with paper towels to dry and stick green pipe cleaners through the center of the liners. Bend and fold liner up around the pom.
Insert flowers in paper vase. Now, go to a friend's house, hang your vase on their door knob, ring the bell and hide!
When the door opens, shout "Happy May Day!"
