Easy Decorated Styrofoam Christmas Trees

We're getting ready for a party around here.

My daughter is turning 12! Yikes, where has the time gone?
Our party theme: candy canes

To decorate the table we made these festive trees.
You won't believe how easy they are.

 You'll need:
Styrofoam Cones
(4-7/8" x 11-7/8" is the size we used.)

2pks of 9 feet Candy Cane Garland
found at the DollarTree.

(This garland is quite thin, which makes it perfect for this project.)

Using straight pins, take one end of the garland and secure it to the top of the cone with a couple straight pins.
Push the pins right into the stryofoam.

Keep wrapping and pinning the garland around the cone.
We didn't need to use many pins at all!

When the entire cone is covered and pinned down.
Hot glue a red ball ornament to the top!
How easy was that?!

(By the way, no one will see the pins!)

This ribbon cone is pretty easy to make, too.

My daughter cut about 50 (3inch pieces) of wired edged ribbon.

Looped them in half and pinned them down,
one overlapping the next.

When we got to the top of the cone, we cut our loop pieces a bit smaller to fit in.

At the top, we hot glued a red ornament and tied on a ribbon scrap.

It's starting to look like a party around here.
